adbmi.org – The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested the perpetrator of the crime of human trafficking which caused hundreds of millions in losses to victims.


The perpetrator of the criminal act of human trafficking promised to work abroad in the destination country of Australia.


Reporting from various sources, the three perpetrators were arrested after receiving reports from the victims last April, to be precise on April 24 2024.


Dircrimum Polda NTB Kombes Pol. Syarif Hidayat S.I.K., during a press conference, Wednesday (08/05) explained that the victims were promised to work in Australia by handing over 130 million rupiah to 140 million rupiah each to the suspects.


The number of victims of the crime of human trafficking is 11 people, two of whom are still in Singapore.


The amount of money the victim paid to the recruiter was IDR 260 million. This number only comes from the confessions of two victims who reported themselves to the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police.


Furthermore, Syarif said that investigators have now detained three suspects in the first case of human trafficking in the detention room at the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Headquarters.


Investigators named the three as suspects by applying Article 10, Article 11 in conjunction with Article 4 of Law Number 21 of 2007 concerning Eradication of the Crime of Human Trafficking and/or Article 81 in conjunction with Article 69 of Law Number 18 of 2017 concerning the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers.
