adbmi.org - A female migrant worker named Wiwin was tortured by her employer in Iraq. Not only that, she was also asked to return 80 million rupiah as ransom. 


Reported from detik.com, Wiwin, a migrant worker from Garut, West Java, was known to have been tortured by her employer starting from information received by her husband. Dani Iyam, Wiwin's husband, received the first news from his wife's co-worker. 


"Her friend said that my wife was tortured, I confirmed it back to my wife and she confirmed it," said Dani Isyam, August 6, 2024.


The 44-year-old man explained that his wife was promised to go to Dubai, United Arab Emirates as a migrant worker. "But it turned out that Dubai was only for 3 days. After that to Turkey for 7 days." 


According to Dani, his wife has often changed employers since leaving in May 2024. 


He even asked the distributor to return Wiwin. But he was asked for a ransom of 80 million.


"I've been to the agency, they asked me for 80 million," explained Wiwin's husband. 


It is known that Wiwin left for the Middle East to become an Indonesian migrant worker through a Middle Eastern placement agency from the Majalaya area of ​​Bandung.
